Introductions

Announcements
Support Group: Contact Counseling Services
Today in Pride News: Gay rights bill passes House in Oregon
If meeting is done by 10:30, Phopp has invited people over to watch "Kinky Boots"
Dial Help awareness event at the mall this meeting (Fri, Sat, Sun) about abuse. They want fliers from anything support-related. Phopp contacted PFLAG, etc.
We will be having a cook-out next weekend to celebrate the end of the semester. Bring a friend! Send message out to list if you or your friend do not like burgers (vegetarian, etc). Some people wanted it to be at Chutes and Ladders, but may be too windy--anywhere else? If weather is bad, Phopp's house. McLain? Hancock beach?
Indiana school in lock-down after death-threats from Day of Silence.
Philadelphia dedicated 36 streets as part of the "Gay-borhood."
E-Board
President: No extra vehicle for MN Pride Parade this summer... Table reserved.
VP: Picnic!
Treasurer: Nick contacted the head of MN's GLBT group, so we do have our own table, but we need to get cracking! Many people are interested. Cut checks for most of what we owe; we are mostly debt free. Judy Gold's flight and vehicle to pick her up. Mailbox--should we keep it?
Secretary: Attendance sheet to be passed out starting next semester for voting privileges next semester.
PR:
Dan: Thank-yous tonight. Board for Spring Fling. "SAVES" (Sexual Abuse and Violence...) group being started--display info at our table to promote it. People to staff booth: Dan, Dawn, Andrew. Bring something soft and squishy to throw at USG's heads (they will sit next to us)
Dawn: Spring Fling!
Social Whatever: (not present)
Advisors:
Phopp: More people should come to social events. Come to end of the year picnic. Anyone bored or want to do spring cleaning? See Phopp!
Nancy: Date for Safe Place Training...very hard to get anything to happen late in the semester. First session, which is mainly for non-students, will probably be one of the first two weeks in May (students may not even be here). Diane and Nancy met with the Peninsula Group, and they are having a summit. Diane will be going, but they really want KP members to come. They have a need for youth (16-25 yo) May 11-12, in Ann Arbor. Decided tonight or tomorrow if at all possible.
Marg: Message from C-House. Replied to e-mail from rep from Virgina Tech; they lost a GLBTQA RA. (see pride-l)
Diane: Take survey if you get one!
Old Business
Constitution Refinements:
Article 4, Section 9, Subsection D
1. Strike Point 1 "The Public Relations Officer shall be responsible for maintaining the public image of Keweenaw Pride."
This is redundant, as all E-Board members should do so.
Bylaws: "Removal of Harassing Individual(s) from a Meeting"
4. Move to next section, "Removal of Harassing Individuals from membership"
[Several grammatical errors pertaining to subject-verb agreement and consistency of capitalization, etc. were corrected and recorded by Bryan in his copy]
"Removal of Harassing Individuals from Membership"
1. Set time period for the mediation as "within two weeks time"
Mediation
1. Combine the two sentences; the first is a fragment.
2. Ambiguously worded. Change "they can request" to "it can be requested," etc.
3. Only one mediator should be involvled. "Documentation of the mediation shall be recorded by an uninvolved E-Board, such as the President or Vice President, while an advisor mediates," or something to that effect. Details shall be further discussed by Elsa, Bryan, and Andrew.
Question, called by Bryan
Vote of more than 2/3 of quorum to accept the proposed Constitution as modified. Accepted!
Spring Fling Posters
4 posters; shown by Dan. Still need to add pictures. (Very well done!)
Order of materials should be coming in soon--remember the materials will be held in the library, in the general collection, according to the contract established between the library and Keweenaw Pride. Fees will be charged for damages, etc.
New Business

The Queer Yooper Conference etc.
Andrew has spoken with the new President of the OUTLook, with high expectations for the QYC.

Meet in Marquette with OUTLook and LSSU group to help LSSU's group to get involved, etc.
Talk about goals for next year.
Part of the AIDS quilt here for next year.
Gail is willing to meet with anyone at her house--it's only a two hours drive.
Letters to alums are almost ready to go.
Lincoln gets rooms reserved for meetings...but Phopp already did it. Do we want to change our meeting location? Red Metal Room? Peninsula Room? Decide at the movie tonight.
Motion to adjourn by Bryan, seconded by Jeff; adjourned!
