ACLU is representing Larry Craig, says he 'had an expectation of privacy'
Iowa Gops pushing for anti-gay constitutional amendment
No Name-Calling Week next week (primarily Middle Schools)
MRSA USA300 strand growing resistant to most antibiotics and increasingly fatal, prevelant in gay men (13x more likely than heteros)--not proven as an STD, but shows to be spread by casual contact (simple touching of skin) and especially risky with sexual contact. Prevention: wash entire body well with soap after -PROTECTED- sexual activities.
Clinton (NH, MI)and Obama (IA) leading in the primaries for the Dems, split for the Republicans between McCain (NH)/Romney (MI)/Huckabee (IA).
Romney won in MI primary yesterday, Clinton won for the democrats...but MI lost its dem. delegates so it doesn't matter all that much...

Support Group starts this sThursday at Canterbury House @ 5:30
Still some concern about the religious-gay tension, but still it was a decision by the support group, partially decided due to the "closeted" atmosphere of its current location.
Safe Place training is Thursday, Jan 31 from 9am-noon. RSVP to activities@mtu.edu, especially if you would like to eat.

Marg: SafePlace buttons: print out sheets of the buttons (Andrew). Make buttons in office hours. Ask for reimbursement as we lost funds that were given to SafePlace.

Gay? Fine By Me -- Waiting approval from DHHC, this week
Pride Week -- Rooms being reserved (thank you Ox and Dan). Five queens--contract is done!
BGC -- may not receive funding--drivers: we may have enough. Quad-rooms would be $100 each + meals. ($1176 total for all rooms). (1) Raise money (2) Tech Fund.
Raising money--Chelsey's plan...tbd
Eye of the Storm -- is done--next week!
Statue -- tomorrow night work, tonight plan.

HRC 'For the Bible Tells Me So' presentation -- committee at Gail's request to handle all that needs to be done to get them up here.

Button Maker to Drinking Liberally -- Jeremy from that group asked if they could "rent" it. Deposit? (Use their own materials or buy ours). Any opposition? Nope.
Student Involvement fair Thursday 24th @ 8:00 pm. Gay-dar game. Condom-balloons?! As Prizes!!! Meeting info on card attached to balloons.
School in MN with a GLBT dorm has been seeing swastikas around campus...send them an encourgement card--Lila to create and we can sign it next meeting.
ART SHOW 4:30 pm tomorrow at the Finlandia Portage Campus, 2nd floor, North Wing. A few non-traditional artists. Later a body artist will be coming!
